Duties

  • Represent clients before government agencies, including the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR), California Family Court, and Probate Court.
  • Prepare and file immigration petitions, applications, statements, declarations, and supporting documentation, ensuring all materials meet deadlines and procedural standards for cases such as Asylum, Cancellation of Removal, Adjustment of Status, SIJS, U Visas, VAWA, and Waivers.
  • Handle Probate and Family Court matters, including Guardianships and Special Immigrant Juvenile Findings related to immigration cases.
  • Conduct legal research and draft motions, briefs, and appeals for cases before USCIS, the Administrative Appeals Office (AAO), the Immigration Court, and the Board of Immigration Appeals.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with clients and agencies, providing case updates and addressing inquiries.
  • Work collaboratively with attorneys, paralegals, and legal staff to ensure streamlined case management and teamwork.

Requirements

  • Language: Fluency in Spanish.
  • License: Active and in good standing with the California State Bar.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Must hold an active California State Bar license.
