Associate Attorney needed for Grand Rapids office

Job Overview:
An established law firm is seeking an Associate Attorney with 0-5 years of experience to join their subrogation and no-fault litigation practice groups. This position is available in Grand Rapids offices. The firm offers comprehensive training and mentorship to ensure the professional development and career advancement of new attorneys. Experience in insurance defense is preferred but not required.

Location:

• Grand Rapids, MI

Duties:

• Represent clients in subrogation and no-fault litigation matters
• Draft legal documents including pleadings, motions, and discovery responses
• Prepare for and participate in hearings and trials
• Collaborate with senior attorneys and clients on case strategies
• Manage a caseload and ensure timely progress of cases
• Conduct legal research and analysis
• Provide client updates and maintain strong client relationships

Requirements:

• 0-5 years of experience in insurance defense or a related field
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to handle a variety of legal tasks and manage time effectively
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Education:

• J.D. from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Active Bar license in Michigan (Required)

Skills:

• Legal research and writing
• Litigation support and trial preparation
• Knowledge of insurance defense practices and no-fault litigation (preferred but not required)
• Time management and organizational skills
• Client communication and relationship building
