Associate Attorney Commercial Litigation

A law firm seeks a driven and experienced Associate Attorney to join its Commercial Litigation team in Los Angeles, California. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney with at least two years of litigation experience who is eager to handle a diverse range of complex civil litigation matters. The firm offers a collaborative and dynamic environment where the successful candidate will work with sophisticated clients on high-stakes legal issues.

Duties:

• Manage a variety of commercial litigation matters, including professional liability, employment defense, product liability, and general business disputes.
• Handle litigation cases from inception to resolution, including drafting motions, pleadings, discovery documents, and settlement agreements.
• Provide legal research, analysis, and strategic advice to clients in a variety of industries.
• Represent clients in depositions, court hearings, and trials, as well as alternative dispute resolution proceedings.
• Work closely with senior attorneys to develop case strategies and assist in trial preparation.
• Collaborate with clients and colleagues to deliver effective, results-driven solutions.
• Participate in the firm's business development efforts, maintaining strong client relationships.
• Mentor junior associates and assist in the firm’s ongoing training programs.

Requirements:

• Minimum of two years of litigation experience including, professional liability, employment defense, products liability, accounting, legal malpractice, financial services litigation, A&E, and/or general construction litigation..
• Strong analytical, research, and writing skills.
• Proven ability to handle complex legal matters and work efficiently under pressure.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate in a team-oriented environment.
• A self-starter with the initiative to manage a caseload and take on significant responsibilities.
• Strong academic background and a record of success in previous positions.
• Must be licensed to practice law and in good standing with the California State Bar.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active California Bar membership required.

Skills:

• Proficient in legal research and drafting litigation documents.
• Strong trial preparation skills and experience with depositions and court appearances.
• Knowledge of commercial litigation procedures, including discovery and motion practice.
• Ability to build and maintain professional client relationships.
• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Team-oriented with the ability to work independently when needed.
