Tax Associate Attorney

Job Overview: A law firm specializing in tax law is seeking a skilled Tax Associate Attorney who will focus on mergers and acquisitions (M&A). The ideal candidate will possess significant experience in tax law, particularly in M&A transactions, and a solid educational background in tax law.

Duties:

• Provide legal advice and counsel on various tax issues related to mergers, acquisitions, and corporate transactions.
• Research complex tax issues and prepare legal memoranda and opinions.
• Draft and negotiate tax-related provisions in agreements and contracts.
• Assist clients in tax planning strategies to optimize financial outcomes.
• Represent clients in tax disputes and proceedings before regulatory authorities.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 4 years of experience practicing tax law, strongly emphasizing mergers and acquisitions.
• Experience gained from an AmLaw 200 tax group, federal Tax M&A group, or a comparable role at a Big 4 Accounting firm.
• LL.M. in Taxation from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the Ohio State Bar or eligibility for admission via reciprocity.

Education and Certifications:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• LL.M. (Master of Laws) in Taxation from an accredited institution.
