Litigation Associate Attorney

A law firm seeks a skilled and dedicated Litigation Associate Attorney to join its expanding legal team in New York, NY. This full-time, in-office position offers the opportunity to work on complex defense litigation matters and grow within a collaborative environment. The ideal candidate will be passionate about litigation and have the drive to manage cases from start to finish while contributing to the firm's success.

Duties:

• Handle all aspects of defense litigation, including drafting legal documents such as motions, pleadings, and discovery requests.
• Conduct legal research to support case strategies and trial preparation.
• Represent clients in court hearings, depositions, and trials under the guidance of senior attorneys.
• Manage case files, including developing strategies and handling client communications.
• Collaborate with colleagues and senior attorneys to achieve favorable outcomes for clients.
• Maintain a high level of organization and meet all case deadlines and billable hour requirements.

Requirements:

• 2-6 years of relevant defense litigation experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent legal research and writing abilities.
• Experience in civil defense litigation or a related field.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple cases simultaneously.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Must be admitted to the New York State Bar.

Skills:

• Proficiency in legal research and drafting legal documents.
• Strong understanding of litigation processes and court procedures.
• Ability to communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and opposing counsel.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
