A law firm seeks an Estate Planning Attorney to join their growing team in Oak Park, Illinois. This position offers the opportunity to advise clients on complex estate planning matters, assist in drafting and executing legal documents, and provide support in probate and trust administration. Ideal candidates will have at least two years of experience in estate planning and a passion for helping individuals and families navigate their legal needs with care and expertise.

Duties:

  • Estate Planning:

    • Provide legal counsel to clients on various estate planning strategies, including wills, trusts, and powers of attorney.
    • Develop customized estate plans that align with the client's long-term goals and objectives.
    • Draft, review, and oversee the execution of estate planning documents, ensuring legal accuracy and client satisfaction.
  • Litigation & Dispute Resolution:

    • Represent clients in probate and trust administration matters, ensuring all legal requirements are met.
    • Engage in negotiations with relevant parties, such as heirs, beneficiaries, and other legal representatives, to resolve estate-related disputes.
  • Client Interaction:

    • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, providing clear guidance and timely updates throughout the estate planning process.
    • Assist clients with navigating complex legal procedures related to estate administration, including probate court filings and real estate transactions.
  • Collaborative Work Environment:

    • Work alongside other attorneys and legal professionals, fostering a collaborative team approach to case management.
    • Contribute to ongoing development and improvement of the firm’s estate planning practice.

Requirements:

  • Experience:

    • Minimum 2 years of experience in estate planning, probate administration, or trust administration.
    • Experience in real estate transactions, specifically related to residential purchases and sales, is a plus.
    • Strong understanding of estate planning techniques and probate procedures.
  • Skills:

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex legal concepts to clients in an understandable way.
    • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and manage multiple cases simultaneously.
    • Exceptional interpersonal skills to build rapport and trust with clients.
  • Work Environment:

    • Ability to work well both independently and in a team setting, with a focus on collaboration and client-centered service.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active license to practice law in the state of Illinois.
