A law firm in New York City, NY is seeking a highly skilled Practice Intelligence Lawyer to support its Banking and Credit practice group. This role will focus on enhancing the group’s matter experience management program, managing knowledge effectively, and optimizing data collection and reporting processes. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with the Senior Lawyer for Banking and Credit, utilizing advanced technology and data analytics to drive insights and improve efficiency.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Experience Management:
    • Review and input deal terms into the Firm’s experience management system (Litera Foundation Firm Intelligence Platform).
    • Ensure timely and accurate input of matter profiles, reflecting all relevant legal and business terms.
    • Collaborate with practicing attorneys to determine matters for profiling and identify essential data points.
  • Reporting and Analysis:
    • Design and produce highly visual reports and dashboards in collaboration with the Data Analytics team.
    • Generate analysis on key data points, including post-deal assessments, benchmarking, and market trend reports.
    • Create client presentations and internal reports leveraging Foundation data.
  • Technology and Efficiency:
    • Optimize technology use to enhance data collection and reporting processes.
    • Evaluate and implement technology and AI applications to support data collection and integration.
    • Identify and recommend improvements to Foundation and related systems.
  • Training and Mentoring:
    • Collaborate with the Senior Lawyer and Professional Development team to assess and address training needs.
    • Develop and deliver training modules for the practice group.
    • Mentor junior associates, providing guidance and best practices for their development.
  • Content Management:
    • Create, develop, organize, update, and maintain forms, precedents, checklists, and other substantive content for the practice group.
    • Ensure all content is up-to-date and effectively utilized by attorneys.
  • Additional Support:
    • Provide general knowledge support to the practice group as assigned by practice group heads, Chief Knowledge & Innovation Officer, Senior Lawyer, or Director.

Requirements:

  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Banking and Credit practice.
  • Education:
    • Juris Doctor (J.D.) or equivalent legal degree.
  • Skills and Abilities:
    • In-depth knowledge of relevant legal practices and documents.
    • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
    • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
    • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Proficiency in technology and data management systems, including advanced reporting tools.
  • Personal Attributes:
    • Highly motivated and a self-starter.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
