Job Overview: A prominent law firm is seeking an experienced Partner to join its litigation team. This role involves providing legal counsel to clients, preparing and drafting legal documents, conducting legal research, and assisting in trial and deposition preparation. The attorney will represent clients in court and depositions while working in a collaborative and supportive environment. This position offers a hybrid work arrangement, with in-office work required two days a week.

Location:

  • Jacksonville, FL

Duties:

  • Prepare legal documents such as contracts, pleadings, briefs, affidavits, motions, and settlement agreements.
  • Conduct legal research and prepare for hearings, depositions, and other legal proceedings.
  • Provide legal counsel to clients, advising on solutions to legal conflicts and negotiating on their behalf.
  • Communicate with attorneys, paralegals, and clients to ensure efficient handling of cases.
  • Maintain client files to ensure information is up to date and accessible to other team members.
  • Take depositions and attend hearings and trials as needed.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and support staff to meet case objectives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 7+ years of experience in a similar role, specifically in litigation.
  • Admission to the Florida Bar.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong time management and problem-solving abilities.
  • Superior attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with a team.
  • Must meet expectations for billing goals.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Florida Bar Admission.

Skills:

  • Legal research and document drafting.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to manage a caseload independently while collaborating with colleagues.
  • Ability to handle high-pressure situations and deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and organizational proficiency.
  • Trial and deposition preparation experience.
