A law firm in University Place, WA, is seeking a proactive and experienced Family Law Attorney to join their team. This role involves handling various aspects of family law cases, including divorce, child custody, and support matters. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with the ability to manage cases independently and deliver exceptional legal services to clients.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Handle all aspects of family law cases, including divorce, child custody, child support, spousal support, and property division.
  • Conduct client consultations to understand their needs and provide legal advice.
  • Prepare and file legal documents such as petitions, motions, agreements, and orders.
  • Represent clients in court proceedings, including hearings, trials, and mediation sessions.
  • Negotiate settlements and agreements on behalf of clients.
  • Conduct legal research and stay updated on family law statutes and case law.
  • Develop case strategies and manage case progress from inception to resolution.
  • Maintain high-level communication with clients, providing updates and addressing their questions and concerns.
  • Collaborate with paralegals and support staff to ensure efficient case management.
  • Attend and participate in firm meetings and training sessions.
  • Meet established key performance indicators (KPIs) and deadlines.

 

Requirements:

  • Active license to practice law in Washington State.
  • Proven experience in handling all areas of family law.
  • Strong knowledge of Washington family law statutes and regulations.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage a caseload effectively.
  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to achieve favorable outcomes for clients.
  • Proficiency in legal research and legal document preparation.
  • High ethical standards and professional integrity.

 

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active Bar membership in Washington State.

  • In-depth understanding of family law and related regulations in Washington State.
  • Strong oral and written communication abilities.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in legal document preparation, including petitions, motions, and agreements.
