Job Details:

Duties:

  • Conduct audits of employer practices, including wage and hour policies and procedures.
  • Draft and revise incentive compensation documents, including commission and bonus plans.
  • Draft and revise policies, handbooks, and other employee communication documents for clarity.
  • Explain complex employment law issues in a way that is understandable to a diverse audience.
  • Identify problem-solving options, presenting pros and cons for clients to choose the best legal solutions.
  • Provide advice and counsel on federal, state, and local workplace and employment laws.
  • Stay informed about current agency (state and federal) enforcement techniques.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Admitted to the California State Bar and in good standing.
  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in employment law.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local workplace and employment law (additional certifications a plus).
  • Understanding current agency (state and federal) enforcement techniques is advantageous.
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational/project management skills.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
  • Preferred experience in conducting training or workplace investigations.

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Admission to the California State Bar and in good standing.

Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
