Attorney - Insurance Bad Faith

Location: San Diego, CA (Remote Available for CA-Based Candidates)

Job Overview

A law firm seeks a skilled and motivated Insurance Bad Faith Attorney to join its team. This role offers a unique opportunity to advocate for clients who have been unfairly denied insurance coverage or subjected to wrongful treatment by insurers. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in bad faith litigation, coverage disputes, and complex insurance claims, along with a strong commitment to holding insurance companies accountable. This position is remote-friendly with a preference for candidates based in California.

Duties

• Handle insurance bad faith and coverage dispute cases from initiation through resolution.

• Oversee all aspects of litigation, including pleadings, discovery, depositions, and trial preparation.

• Conduct in-depth legal research and draft motions, including dispositive motions and motions to compel.

• Take and defend depositions of key witnesses, including insurance representatives.

• Represent clients in negotiations, mediations, arbitrations, and court proceedings.

• Analyze insurance policies and coverage matters to develop effective legal strategies.

Requirements

• 5-10 years of litigation experience focused on insurance bad faith, coverage disputes, or general insurance litigation.

• Strong legal research and motion-writing skills.

• Experience handling depositions and trial preparation.

• Background in insurance litigation at a defense firm is a plus.

• Ability to work independently while collaborating with a legal team.

• Willingness to travel for depositions, court hearings, and other case-related work.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active license to practice law in California.
