Job Overview A well-established law firm is seeking a passionate and driven Criminal Defense Associate Attorney to represent clients in various counties throughout New York. Duties
Represent clients in criminal court proceedings throughout multiple counties
Conduct legal research and draft motions, briefs, and memoranda
Build strategic defenses and present arguments effectively in court
Maintain active communication with clients, families, and the court
Negotiate plea deals and handle pre-trial, trial, and post-conviction matters
Collaborate with internal legal staff and investigators to develop strong case strategies
Manage caseload independently while adhering to court deadlines
Participate in firm-building initiatives and contribute to the growth of the practice
Requirements
Must be admitted to practice law in New York State
Ability to travel regularly within assigned counties
Previous courtroom experience preferred
Strong passion for criminal defense and advocacy
Excellent communication and client relationship skills
Highly motivated and capable of independent case management
Education
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
Certifications
Active New York State Bar admission (required)
