A prestigious law firm based in Saint Petersburg, FL, is seeking a skilled Defense Litigation Attorney with 3+ years of experience in insurance defense. This role offers an opportunity to work in a collaborative environment, managing a diverse caseload from pre-suit through arbitration and trial.

Duties:

• Manage litigation caseloads, including depositions, discovery, pleadings, and court appearances.
• Handle trial and arbitration matters with confidence and strategic insight.
• Apply comprehensive knowledge of Florida and Federal civil procedure rules.
• Develop and execute creative defense strategies.
• Engage directly with clients to provide legal advice and business guidance.
• Conduct legal seminars for clients as needed.
• Review and analyze medical records relevant to litigation cases.
• Maintain excellent communication, writing, and research skills.
• Build and sustain relationships with clients, attorneys, and staff.

Requirements:

• Minimum 3+ years of experience in insurance defense litigation.
• In-depth understanding of Florida Bar rules and Federal civil procedure.
• Active admission to the Florida Bar.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle a high volume of cases.
• Effective problem-solving and multitasking abilities.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the Florida Bar (Required).

Certifications:

• Florida Bar License (Required).

Skills:

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Westlaw, and/or LexisNexis.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent research and analytical abilities.
• Time management and attention to detail.
