A law firm in Novato, CA, is seeking a Bilingual Family Law Attorney to manage all aspects of assigned family law cases. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in family law, be fluent in Spanish, and possess strong research, organization, and writing skills.

Duties:

  • Manage all aspects of assigned family law cases, including drafting pleadings and interfacing with clients, opposing counsel, and experts.
  • Handle case preparation and completion, including managing deadlines and attending court hearings.
  • Draft declarations, points, and authorities, and conduct legal research related to spousal support, child support, child custody, visitation, property issues, restraining orders, and other family law matters.
  • Draft and review discovery, assess the sufficiency of responses, draft meet and confer letters, and draft and respond to motions to compel.
  • Prepare and review preliminary declarations of disclosure, Income and Expense Declarations, and other relevant documents.
  • Utilize legal software and tools such as Clio, Lawyaw, GSuite, Dissomaster, and Word.
  • Provide empathetic support to clients undergoing high levels of stress, understanding the importance of custody service.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys and staff to ensure comprehensive case management and effective case strategy.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience in family law.
  • Spanish-speaking skills are required.
  • Active California State Bar admission.
  • Strong research, organization, and writing skills.
  • Experience drafting and reviewing legal documents and discovery.
  • Prior civil litigation experience is a plus.
  • Proficiency with Clio, Lawyaw, GSuite, Dissomaster, and Word is preferred.
  • Ability to empathize with clients and manage cases involving high levels of stress.

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the California State Bar and in good standing.
