Job Overview

A leading law firm is seeking a qualified Mid-Level Associate to join its national Employee Benefits practice. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three years of experience in employee benefits law, specifically ERISA, with a focus on retirement plans, executive compensation, health & welfare plans, fringe benefits, and M&A-related employee benefits matters. Duties

  • Provide expert legal counsel on employee benefits law, including qualified retirement plans, executive compensation, health & welfare benefits, and fringe benefits.
  • Advise clients on employee benefits matters in connection with mergers, acquisitions, and corporate restructuring.
  • Simplify complex legal issues into practical, actionable advice for clients.
  • Draft legal documents, memoranda, and client reports.
  • Conduct in-depth legal research and stay updated on changes in employee benefits regulations.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys on complex legal matters, supporting the development of creative solutions.
  • Maintain and build strong client relationships through effective communication and service.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in employee benefits law, with a focus on ERISA.
  • Experience in retirement plans, executive compensation, health & welfare plans, fringe benefits, and M&A-related employee benefits issues.
  • Strong academic credentials and excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to distill complex legal matters into understandable and actionable advice for clients.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active bar membership in the state

  • In-depth knowledge of ERISA and employee benefits law.
  • Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
