A law firm is seeking a talented and driven Food and Agribusiness Attorney to join its team. This position is ideal for an attorney with 1-3 years of experience or a strong interest in food and agribusiness law. The role involves providing counsel to agricultural and food industry clients, including drafting and reviewing contracts, offering risk management advice, and assisting with regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate will have a basic understanding of or a desire to learn about the local, national, and global agricultural and food systems.

Duties

  • Provide legal counsel to agricultural and food industry clients on various legal matters.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts related to food and agribusiness operations.
  • Advise clients on risk management strategies and legal issues.
  • Assist with permitting, regulatory compliance, and governmental oversight.
  • Develop an understanding of agricultural and food systems both locally and globally.
  • Build relationships and establish trust with clients in the food and agribusiness sectors.
  • Stay informed about developments in food and agribusiness law.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of experience in the practice of law, preferably with a focus on food and agribusiness.
  • Strong interest in food, agriculture, and related industries.
  • Ability to draft and review complex legal documents, including contracts and agreements.
  • Experience or willingness to advise clients on regulatory and compliance matters.
  • Strong research, writing, and analytical skills.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
