Antitrust and Competition Law Associate Attorney

A law firm in Washington, DC is seeking an experienced Antitrust and Competition Law Associate Attorney with a background in transactions analysis, merger control, counseling, compliance, investigations, and litigation. The ideal candidate will have at least 4 years of relevant experience, preferably including employment with the U.S. Department of Justice. Excellent academic credentials are required, and experience working with clients in technology, life sciences, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, and manufacturing industries would be advantageous.

Job Details:

• Conduct legal research and analysis related to antitrust and competition law matters.
• Advise clients on merger control issues, including Hart-Scott-Rodino (HSR) requirements.
• Assist with antitrust compliance programs and provide counseling on antitrust implications of business strategies.
• Represent clients in antitrust investigations by regulatory agencies.
• Draft legal memoranda, opinions, and other documents related to antitrust issues.
• Assist in the preparation of merger notifications and filings under antitrust laws.
• Participate in litigation related to antitrust matters, including discovery, motion practice, and trial preparation.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the District of Columbia Bar in good standing.
• 4+ years of experience practicing antitrust and competition law, preferably including experience with the U.S. Department of Justice or other government agencies.
• Strong understanding of transactions analysis, merger control, and antitrust compliance.
• Excellent academic credentials reflecting high achievement in legal education.
• Experience advising clients in technology, life sciences, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, or manufacturing sectors preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to handle complex legal issues independently and collaboratively.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate legal concepts clearly and persuasively.
