General Liability Of Counsel

Job Overview:
A renowned law firm in New York City, NY is looking for an experienced Of Counsel to join a General Liability practice group. This role offers flexibility for remote or in-office work, requiring strong writing, research, and litigation skills.

Location:

• New York City, NY 

Duties:

• Review files and conduct legal analysis of claims and causes of action
• Perform extensive legal research and draft briefs, memos, pleadings, and appellate briefs
• Represent clients in court, arbitrations, and depositions
• Draft and respond to discovery requests
• Collaborate on expert witness retention
• Prepare for and attend trials
• Some travel may be required

Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in general liability; experience in other areas is a plus
• J.D. from an ABA-approved law school
• Admitted to practice in NY and NJ; additional states are a plus
• Superior analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong written and oral communication abilities
• Excellent client skills and telephone manner

Education:

• J.D. degree from an ABA-accredited institution

Certifications:

• Admitted to practice law in New York and New Jersey
