Location:

Duties:

  • Screen potential civil rights cases, conducting in-depth legal research to assess the merits of the case

  • Participate in all phases of civil rights litigation from inception to resolution

  • Draft and prepare pleadings, manage discovery, and conduct legal research

  • Research, write, and argue complex motions

  • Take and defend depositions

  • Make court appearances as necessary

  • Work closely with clients from diverse backgrounds, including incarcerated individuals

  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and legal teams on case strategy and development

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-accredited law school

  • Active license to practice law

  • 2-5 years of litigation experience, with preference given to civil rights, constitutional law, or trial experience

  • Strong research and legal writing skills, particularly in drafting complex motions and case law development

  • Experience in handling depositions, court hearings, and appeals

  • A deep interest in civil rights advocacy and case law development

  • Passion for justice and advancing civil rights through litigation

  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively within a team

Education:

  • J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active license to practice law

Skills:
