Job Overview:
A law firm based in Irving, TX is seeking a Litigation Attorney with proven experience in real estate, foreclosure, and title-related litigation. The role focuses on managing a caseload involving both commercial and residential matters, representing financial institutions, mortgage lenders, and investors in court. This position requires strong litigation skills, including motion practice, court appearances, and case strategy development.

Duties:

  • Handle contested litigation matters involving foreclosure, eviction, title disputes, and homeowners’ or condominium associations (HOA/COA).

  • Represent clients in court, making regular appearances for hearings, motions, and other proceedings in both state and federal courts.

  • Analyze loan documentation, title reports, and related materials to develop legal strategies.

  • Draft legal documents including motions, pleadings, and responses to written discovery.

  • Conduct negotiations and explore settlement options to resolve disputes efficiently.

  • Maintain ongoing communication with clients, providing regular updates and managing expectations.

  • Collaborate with internal teams and legal staff to support case progression.

Requirements:

  • Active license to practice law in Texas, in good standing.

  • At least 2 years of litigation experience focused on foreclosure and real estate matters.

  • Minimum 2 years of hands-on motion practice experience.

  • At least 2 years of courtroom experience managing hearings or trials.

  • Solid understanding of Texas foreclosure laws and real estate litigation procedures.

  • Familiarity with the Texas Rules of Civil Procedure and state appellate and trial court rules.

  • Experience representing mortgage lenders, servicers, or investors in contested legal matters.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

  • Admitted to the Texas Bar.

Certifications:

  • Texas Bar admission in good standing (mandatory).

Skills:

  • Strong legal research and persuasive writing abilities.

  • Confident in oral advocacy and courtroom presentation skills.
