Mid- to Senior Level Product Liability Associate Attorney

A law firm in Cleveland, OH, is seeking a Mid- to Senior Level Product Liability Associate Attorney with a strong background in products liability defense, particularly with medical device and pharmaceutical manufacturer clients. The ideal candidate will possess excellent academic credentials, exceptional communication skills, and substantial experience handling complex multi-district matters and individual cases.

Duties:

• Represent clients in product liability defense matters, focusing on medical device and pharmaceutical manufacturers.
• Manage all aspects of litigation, including drafting pleadings, preparing and responding to discovery requests, and conducting motion practice.
• Take and defend fact, party, and expert depositions.
• Conduct thorough legal research and analysis on product liability issues.
• Prepare for and attend court appearances and hearings.
• Collaborate closely with clients, experts, and team members throughout the litigation process.
• Provide strategic advice and counsel to clients regarding product liability risks and litigation strategies.
• Participate in settlement negotiations and mediation sessions as needed.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the Ohio State Bar in good standing.
• Minimum of 3+ years of experience as a practicing litigator, with a significant focus on product liability defense.
• Proven track record of drafting pleadings, managing discovery, conducting depositions, and handling motion practice and court appearances.
• Strong research, writing, and communication skills.
• Former trial level clerkships are a plus.
• Scientific background or experience in medical device/pharmaceutical litigation is preferred.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
