A law firm in Hackensack is seeking a Senior Real Estate Associate Attorney with 16 years of experience in real estate transactions. Ideal candidates will have a strong background in mortgage/mezzanine debt, joint-venture equity work, acquisitions and dispositions, or development. Duties:

  • Provide legal counsel on real estate transactions, including mortgage and mezzanine debt (both lender and borrower side), joint-venture equity, acquisitions, dispositions, and development projects.
  • Draft, negotiate, and review key transaction documents such as loan agreements, joint-venture agreements, purchase and sale agreements, and development contracts.
  • Conduct thorough due diligence, including reviewing title, survey documents, and other critical materials.
  • Advise clients on regulatory compliance and risk management related to real estate matters.
  • Manage complex transactions, ensuring timely and efficient completion of projects.
  • Collaborate with clients and internal teams to develop strategic solutions for real estate issues.
  • Mentor and support junior attorneys and staff, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented work environment.


Requirements:

  • Solid experience in one or more of the following areas: mortgage/mezzanine debt, joint-venture equity work, acquisitions and dispositions, and/or development.
  • Strong background in real estate transactions or relevant non-real estate transactional experience.
  • A commitment to professional growth, mentorship, and contributing to a positive work culture.


Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.


Certifications:

  • Admission to the State Bar.


Skills:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of real estate law and transactional practices.
  • Excellent drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and client management abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work efficiently under pressure.
