Job Overview:
A respected law firm located in Bakersfield, CA, is looking for an experienced Insurance Defense Attorney to join their team remotely. This is an exciting opportunity for candidates with extensive knowledge in bodily injury defense, construction defect, employment, and other areas of insurance defense. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work independently and handle a variety of legal matters, all while enjoying the flexibility of a remote position.

Duties:

• Draft motions, conduct depositions, and handle oral arguments and hearings
• Negotiate settlements and manage client reporting
• Independently manage cases, appearances, and assignments with minimal supervision
• Provide strategic legal advice and guidance to clients in insurance defense matters
• Collaborate with team members to ensure high-quality case management

Requirements:

• Must be licensed to practice law in California (additional state licensure is a plus)
• 3-12+ years of experience in Insurance Defense matters (preferred)
• Proven experience in bodily injury defense, construction defect, employment, and other insurance defense matters (required)

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Active membership in the California Bar (required)

Skills:

• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent negotiation and settlement skills
• Ability to handle complex legal matters independently
• Proficiency in case management and legal research tools
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, remote environment
