Trial Attorney for Missoula Office

Job Overview: A law firm seeks an experienced and motivated Trial Attorney to join its growing team in Missoula, MT. This role focuses on personal injury litigation, family law, and criminal defense cases. The ideal candidate will have extensive jury trial experience and the ability to manage multiple cases as the primary attorney. Duties:

• Lead and manage a diverse caseload of personal injury, family law, and criminal defense matters
• Conduct jury trials and represent clients in court proceedings
• Collaborate with paralegals and support staff to ensure efficient case management
• Utilize the firm’s online case management system to communicate with clients and manage case updates
• Prepare and draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, briefs, and settlement agreements
• Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients in various legal matters
• Maintain regular communication with clients and provide strategic legal advice
• Participate in litigation strategy discussions with senior attorneys and staff

Requirements:

• Extensive jury trial experience in personal injury, family law, and/or criminal defense
• Ability to handle multiple cases independently and serve as the lead attorney
• Strong litigation and courtroom advocacy skills
• Knowledge of Montana personal injury, family law, and criminal law is preferred
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and maintain effective client communication
• Willingness to work in a hybrid role, with partial remote work available

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Licensed to practice law in Montana or eligible for admission to the Montana Bar

Skills:

• Excellent trial and litigation skills, with a proven track record of success in jury trials
• Strong legal research, drafting, and negotiation skills
• Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize a busy caseload
• Proficiency in using legal case management software
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for client and team collaboration
