Job Overview

A well-established law firm is seeking an Associate Attorney with experience in Workers’ Compensation law to join its legal team. This role involves handling workers' compensation claims, developing litigation strategies, conducting legal research, and representing clients in legal proceedings. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, and possess excellent problem-solving skills.

Location

  • Harrisburg, Pennsylvania

Duties

  • Assist in initial case evaluation and development of litigation strategies.

  • Build and maintain relationships with clients, third-party administrators, insurers, and employers.

  • Evaluate the merits of workers’ compensation claims.

  • Conduct extensive legal research and draft correspondences, pleadings, appeals, and appellate briefs.

  • Draft and respond to written discovery requests.

  • Review medical records to support case preparation.

  • Prepare for and attend trials.

  • Represent clients in legal proceedings, including discovery, motions, and trials.

  • Assist in preparing settlement agreements, motions, and briefs.

  • Perform other related legal duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of experience in Pennsylvania Workers’ Compensation law (preferred).

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced legal environment.

  • High attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant legal software.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active admission to the Pennsylvania Bar.
