Job Overview:

Duties:

  • Oversee and manage legal components of affordable housing development projects across multiple jurisdictions

  • Negotiate and draft agreements related to acquisitions, dispositions, refinancing, and LIHTC transactions (4% and 9%)

  • Lead closings and conduct legal due diligence for multifaceted real estate and finance matters

  • Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders including developers, investors, and lenders

  • Address legal risks and regulatory compliance in transaction planning and execution

  • Serve as primary client contact on assigned matters; offer strategic counsel and legal solutions

  • Supervise junior attorneys or support staff as needed on housing-related matters

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 6 years of law firm experience with a concentration in affordable housing, real estate finance, or tax credit transactions

  • Prior involvement in Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) transactions, with exposure to both 4% and 9% structures

  • Familiarity with multi-party transactions involving public-private partnerships

  • Capability to independently manage complex legal projects from initial structuring to closing

  • Experience representing any combination of developers, syndicators, lenders, or investors is advantageous

  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to meet demanding deadlines

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from a fully accredited and nationally recognized law school

Certifications:

  • Active license to practice law in the state of Ohio, or eligibility for prompt admission
