Job Title: Litigation Special Counsel

Job Overview: A prestigious law firm in Miami, FL, is seeking a skilled attorney with a minimum of 6 years of litigation experience to support their Complex Litigation Construction Practice. This is a full-time, non-partner track position, focusing on multi-party litigation involving construction defect matters. The ideal candidate will have significant litigation experience, autonomy, and strong oratory, research, and writing skills.

Duties:

• Handle complex construction litigation and defect cases involving multiple parties.
• Conduct legal research, draft substantive motions, and prepare for court or arbitration proceedings.
• Lead discovery processes, including depositions and document production.
• Represent clients in courtrooms and arbitration hearings.
• Oversee risk transfer issues related to property damage claims and insurance.
• Manage time and caseload efficiently with a focus on deadlines and organization.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 6 years of litigation experience, preferably in construction defect litigation.
• Extensive experience with depositions, discovery, substantive motions, and some trial or evidentiary hearing exposure.
• Strong knowledge of insurance risk transfer issues concerning property damage claims.
• Confident and self-driven with the ability to work independently.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active membership in the Florida Bar is in good standing.
