Private Credit Associate

Job Overview:

A prestigious law firm is seeking a highly qualified Associate to join its premier Private Credit Department. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex private credit and finance matters within a collaborative legal environment.

Location:

• Chicago, IL

Duties:

• Advise clients on private credit and finance transactions.

• Structure, negotiate, and document a variety of lending transactions.

• Handle cash flow deals, acquisitions, leveraged buyouts, and recapitalizations.

• Provide counsel on asset-based financings, restructurings, and workouts.

• Collaborate with clients and legal teams to develop strategic financing solutions.

Requirements:

• 3-6 years of experience in private credit and finance matters.

• Prior experience at a nationally recognized law firm or equivalent legal background.

• Demonstrated experience in lending transactions, with borrower-side exposure as a plus.

• Strong background in a variety of financing structures.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active bar membership in the relevant jurisdiction or ability to obtain admission.

Skills:

• Strong drafting, negotiation, and analytical abilities.

• Excellent communication and client management skills.

• Ability to manage multiple transactions in a fast-paced environment.

• High attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities.
