A prominent law firm located in Washington, DC is seeking a skilled Civil Litigation Associate Attorney to join their dynamic team. This position offers the opportunity to work on a diverse range of civil litigation matters, with a focus on deposition, discovery, and motion practice. The ideal candidate will possess strong written and oral communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage a substantial caseload. Trial or arbitration experience is also a key factor for consideration.

Duties:

• Handle civil litigation cases from start to finish, with a focus on discovery, depositions, and motion practice
• Represent clients in trial or arbitration proceedings, including negotiations and settlement discussions
• Manage multiple cases simultaneously, ensuring timely and accurate case management
• Draft and review legal documents such as motions, pleadings, and discovery responses
• Collaborate with senior attorneys and partners on complex litigation strategies
• Maintain consistent communication with clients regarding case status and developments

Requirements:

• 2-3 years of experience in a private law firm setting, specializing in civil litigation
• Experience in depositions, discovery, and motions practice
• Some trial or arbitration experience is required
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and manage a high-volume caseload
• Attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills

Education:

• J.D. from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Admitted to practice in Washington, DC, and either Virginia or Maryland
• West Virginia license is a plus
