A law firm in Phoenix, Arizona, is seeking an experienced Immigration Attorney to join their team. The successful candidate will report to the Managing Immigration Attorney and will be responsible for managing their own caseload, client interactions, and collaboration with the Immigration Team. This role involves representing clients in various immigration proceedings, preparing diverse immigration applications, and providing strategic legal counsel.

Duties:

  • Explain immigration concepts and present strategic solutions to clients.
  • Represent non-detained and detained individuals in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and Board of Immigration Appeals.
  • Manage a varied workload of immigration cases.
  • Conduct intakes and provide legal support to detained individuals at detention centers.
  • Prepare and file diverse immigration applications, including removal defense and family-based immigration petitions.
  • Review and make necessary adjustments to immigration applications and packets.
  • Present immigration law changes to law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community-based organizations.
  • Meet with potential clients for strategic consultations and develop case strategies.
  • Prepare clients and witnesses for court or USCIS testimony.
  • Provide legal analysis to determine potential benefits and strategies for cases.
  • Draft and submit legal briefs for a range of immigration cases.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of experience in Immigration Law.
  • Experience with Family-Based Petitions, Humanitarian cases, EOIR matters, Detained cases, Citizenship, and other USCIS applications.
  • Proficiency with Case Management Software is preferred.
  • Bilingual (Spanish) is preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a proven track record of managing a caseload effectively.

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Bar in the state of Arizona.

  • In-depth knowledge of immigration law and procedures.
  • Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a team of attorneys and legal assistants.
  • Exceptional client service and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to move legal cases forward and manage a caseload efficiently.
