Entry Level Immigration Attorney

Job Overview:
A premier law firm in Sacramento, CA is seeking an entry-level Immigration Attorney to join its growing team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a newly admitted attorney to gain hands-on experience in immigration law while contributing to a collaborative and supportive environment. The selected candidate will manage a caseload, work directly with clients, and receive mentorship from senior attorneys to foster professional growth.

Location:

Duties:

• Explain immigration laws and concepts to clients, offering strategic legal solutions.
• Represent non-detained and detained individuals in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and the Board of Immigration Appeals.
• Manage a caseload, ensuring timely progression and client satisfaction.
• Conduct intake interviews with detained individuals at detention centers.
• Prepare immigration applications, including removal defense and family-based petitions.
• Review and revise immigration applications and packets as necessary.
• Collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community organizations on changes to immigration law.
• Provide strategic consultations with potential clients to determine the best legal approach.
• Develop case strategies and prepare clients and witnesses for USCIS or court testimony.
• Provide legal analysis to clients regarding potential case benefits.
• Draft and submit legal briefs for various immigration cases.

Requirements:

• At least 1 year of experience in Immigration Law.
• Ability to manage a caseload and move cases forward.
• Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative team player.
• Bilingual in English/Spanish is preferred.
• Experience with Family-Based Petitions, Humanitarian cases, EOIR, Detained cases, Citizenship, and other USCIS applications.
• Familiarity with case management software is preferred.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Admission to the bar in the state of California (or ability to gain admission).
