Job Overview:
A well-established law firm in the Greater Los Angeles area is seeking a skilled and dedicated Immigration Attorney to join its growing team. The ideal candidate will have experience in handling a wide range of immigration cases, including removal defense and family-based immigration petitions. The Immigration Attorney will be responsible for managing a caseload, providing strategic counsel to clients, and working closely with a talented team of legal professionals.

Location:

Duties:

  • Explain complex immigration concepts and offer strategic solutions to clients
  • Represent non-detained and detained individuals in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and Board of Immigration Appeals
  • Manage a caseload of immigration cases, including removal defense and family-based immigration petitions
  • Conduct intake interviews with detained individuals at immigration centers
  • Prepare and submit a variety of immigration applications, including petitions, motions, and appeals
  • Review and revise immigration applications and packets as necessary
  • Collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community-based organizations on immigration-related matters
  • Conduct strategic immigration consultations with potential clients and develop case strategies
  • Prepare clients and witnesses for court or USCIS testimony
  • Provide legal analysis to determine possible case benefits and risks
  • Draft and submit legal briefs for immigration cases

Requirements:

  • At least 1 to 4 years of experience in Immigration Law
  • Proven ability to manage a caseload and move cases forward effectively
  • Strong team player with the ability to collaborate and strategize with fellow associates
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred, but not required
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience with Family-Based Petitions, Humanitarian cases, EOIR, Detained cases, Citizenship, and other USCIS applications
  • Experience with Case Management Software is preferred

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active state bar membership

Skills:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to explain complex legal matters clearly to clients and colleagues
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet strict deadlines
  • Experience with immigration law, particularly in family-based petitions and removal defense
