A law firm is seeking a dedicated and skilled Junior to Mid-Level Restructuring Associate Attorney to join their team in New York City, NY. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience representing and advising companies experiencing financial difficulties, as well as working with lenders and creditors in complex business reorganizations, debt restructurings, and financing matters, ideally with debtor-side experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Represent and advise companies experiencing financial difficulties in complex business reorganizations, debt restructurings, and financing matters.
  • Work closely with lenders and creditors in restructuring scenarios.
  • Conduct thorough legal research and draft legal documents, including motions, pleadings, and correspondence.
  • Develop and maintain client relationships through effective communication and responsive service.
  • Manage case files, ensuring all documentation is accurate and up to date.
  • Participate in negotiations, mediations, and court proceedings as needed.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys, paralegals, and staff to provide high-quality legal services.
  • Comply with all firm policies and practices.
  • Engage in both physical and sedentary activities, such as working at a computer for extended periods and participating in virtual meetings.
  • Perform other duties, tasks, or projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • JD degree from an accredited law school.
  • Licensed to practice law in New York.
  • A minimum of 3 years of restructuring experience, preferably with debtor-side experience.
  • Strong analytical and writing skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficient research and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with clients, lawyers, business professionals, and third parties.
  • Ability to produce high-quality deliverables and meet deadlines.
  • Strong management skills and the ability to foster positive work relationships.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in restructuring, business reorganizations, debt restructurings, and financing matters.
  • Experience representing and advising companies in financial distress.
  • Experience working with lenders and creditors.
  • Ideally, experience with debtor-side restructuring.
