Job Overview: A law firm seeks a dynamic Associate Attorney to join its team in Terre Haute, IN. Duties:

  • Manage a diverse caseload, handling legal matters in family law, business, real estate, banking, employment, and/or criminal law
  • Provide thorough legal advice and representation to clients, ensuring their needs are met
  • Appear in court for hearings, trials, and other legal proceedings across various counties in the state
  • Prepare and review legal documents, ensuring accuracy and compliance with legal standards
  • Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, and other legal documentation
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure comprehensive case management and legal strategies
  • Communicate effectively with clients, keeping them informed of case progress and legal options
  • Multitask and prioritize tasks with minimal supervision, adjusting to changing priorities as needed

Requirements:

  • Active Indiana State Bar license (Required)
  • 2-5+ years of legal experience preferred
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage a high volume of cases
  • High moral character, work ethic, and practical approach to legal matters
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and provide meaningful legal review of documents
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Experience in small claims and collections cases is a plus, but not required

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Valid Indiana State Bar license

Skills:

  • Proficient in legal research, drafting, and case management
  • Strong interpersonal skills for client and colleague interactions
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple cases simultaneously
  • Experience in family law, business law, real estate, banking, employment, or criminal law preferred
