Duties:

  • Draft and prosecute patent applications, focusing on electrical engineering and software-related inventions
  • Provide counsel and strategy in patent litigation and dispute resolution
  • Conduct prior art searches and prepare legal opinions on patentability, infringement, and freedom to operate
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to understand and protect cutting-edge technologies
  • Manage patent portfolios and handle related legal filings before the USPTO
  • Participate in due diligence for mergers and acquisitions related to intellectual property
  • Communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders regarding complex legal and technical issues

Requirements:

  • Must have a strong background in patent prosecution and litigation, with experience drafting patent applications
  • Experience in computer science, electrical engineering, or a similar technical field is essential
  • Familiarity with networking, wireless technologies (3G/4G/5G), and related software is a plus
  • Must be admitted to practice before the USPTO
  • Associate candidates must be licensed to practice law in the state of California (or have the ability to become licensed in the state in which they will practice)
  • A minimum of 2-6 years of relevant legal experience required

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school or equivalent legal degree
