First Party Property Associate Attorney

A law firm in Jacksonville, FL, is seeking a First Party Property Associate Attorney to support senior attorneys in providing legal counsel to clients. The candidate will be responsible for conducting legal research, drafting pleadings, communicating with clients, and assisting with trial preparation.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist senior attorneys in providing legal counsel to clients on first party property insurance matters.
• Conduct thorough legal research and analysis on issues related to property insurance claims.
• Draft and prepare legal documents including pleadings, briefs, motions, contracts, affidavits, and settlement agreements.
• Communicate with clients, experts, and opposing counsel to negotiate settlements and resolve disputes.
• Prepare for and attend hearings, depositions, and other legal proceedings.
• Analyze legal issues and provide strategic advice to clients.
• Maintain organized and up-to-date client files and case documentation.
• Collaborate effectively with senior attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to ensure efficient case management.
• Meet billing goals and maintain detailed time records.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the Florida State Bar.
• 1-3 years of experience in first party property insurance law or related field preferred.
• Judicial clerkship experience or demonstrated strong research, writing, and legal analysis skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Effective time management and problem-solving abilities.
• Superior attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
