Trademark Associate Attorney

A law firm seeks a talented trademark associate attorney to join its Intellectual Property practice in New York. This position involves a diverse portfolio of trademark and copyright matters, including clearance, prosecution, litigation, opposition proceedings, and strategic client counseling. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical, organizational, and writing skills to manage complex multinational projects and provide thoughtful, sophisticated guidance to clients.

Duties:

• Conduct trademark searches, provide clearance opinions, and manage prosecution efforts.
• Handle trademark and copyright infringement litigation and manage opposition and cancellation proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (TTAB).
• Advise clients on contentious and non-contentious trademark and copyright matters, including portfolio management and strategy.
• Draft and respond to office actions and prepare persuasive legal briefs and motions.
• Oversee and coordinate large-scale, multinational trademark clearance projects.
• Collaborate with clients to develop comprehensive strategies for brand protection and intellectual property enforcement.

Requirements:

• 3-5 years of experience in trademark and copyright law, including litigation and counseling.
• A demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and provide clear, strategic advice.
• Strong legal research, writing, and advocacy skills.
• A desire to expand practice focus from litigation to incorporate counseling and transactional work.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active membership in the New York State Bar or eligibility for admission.
