A law firm in Mobile, AL, is seeking a seasoned Renewables Attorney to join their team. This attorney will provide expert legal counsel on various renewable energy projects, with a focus on facilities operations and power purchase agreements. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience with renewable energy technologies such as wind, solar, hydroelectric, and fuel cells, as well as knowledge of smart grid technology, energy storage, and energy efficiency. The role requires a high level of client service, strong interpersonal skills, and effective communication. Candidates must have a JD degree, be an active member in good standing of the Bar, and bring a portable book of business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide legal advice and support on renewable energy projects, including wind, solar, hydroelectric, and fuel cell facilities.
  • Draft, negotiate, and manage power purchase agreements, facility operation agreements, and other relevant contracts.
  • Offer strategic guidance on regulatory compliance, facilities operations, and industry best practices.
  • Advise clients on smart grid technology, energy storage solutions, and energy efficiency practices.
  • Conduct comprehensive legal research and analysis on current and emerging trends in renewable energy.
  • Collaborate with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams to address legal issues and ensure project success.
  • Manage and resolve legal disputes and challenges related to renewable energy projects.
  • Develop and maintain a portable book of business, demonstrating a robust client base in the renewable energy sector.

Requirements:

  • JD degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active member in good standing of the Bar.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in renewable energy law.
  • Proven track record of a portable book of business.
  • Extensive knowledge of wind, solar, hydroelectric, and fuel cell technologies.
  • Familiarity with smart grid technology, energy storage systems, and energy efficiency.
