A law firm in Wichita, KS is seeking a proactive Lead Attorney to oversee the day-to-day operations of the office. The ideal candidate will manage all phases of personal injury claims, from research and pre-trial preparation to trial, settlement negotiations, and appeals. They will lead a team, interact with clients and insurance companies, and ensure compliance with legal standards.

Job Duties:

  • Lead and manage the operations of the Wichita, KS office, overseeing a team of legal professionals.
  • Handle a high-volume personal injury caseload, guiding cases through the pre-litigation claim process.
  • Collaborate with various legal support departments, ensuring effective communication and coordination.
  • Meet regularly with the Regional General Manager for office development and strategic planning.
  • Negotiate and interact with insurance companies on behalf of clients.
  • Maintain positive client relationships through frequent communication and excellent client service.
  • Draft a variety of legal documents including correspondence, pleadings, discovery requests and responses, settlement agreements, and more.
  • Ensure accuracy and compliance with legal standards in all prepared documents.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced work environment, demonstrating exceptional organizational, prioritization, and time-management skills.
  • Provide responsive and compassionate client service, committed to achieving favorable outcomes for clients.
  • Demonstrate superior written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, etc.) and tech-savvy abilities.
  • Foster outstanding communication and interpersonal relations within the team and with clients.

Requirements:

  • Active Bar license in Kansas.
  • Minimum 1+ years of civil practice experience, preferably in personal injury law.
  • Strong understanding of personal injury claims processes and legal standards.
  • Ability to manage a high-volume caseload efficiently and effectively.

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Kansas State Bar.
