Job Title: Associate Attorney
Job Overview: A law firm located in Rockville, MD is seeking an Associate Attorney to join its Bankruptcy practice. This position offers an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a high-volume legal environment. While prior bankruptcy law experience is not required, the ideal candidate must demonstrate the ability to manage a heavy caseload, meet deadlines, and produce accurate work under pressure. Strong organizational, interpersonal, and analytical skills are essential for success in this role.
Duties:
Review bankruptcy pleadings and claims for filing within the appropriate jurisdiction.
Manage routine bankruptcy cases from start to finish.
Monitor electronic bankruptcy filings (ECFs).
Attend bankruptcy hearings regularly.
Communicate consistently with clients, opposing counsel, and Trustees.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Strong attention to detail with exceptional analytical skills.
Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Strong proficiency with office technology and computer software.
Ability to prioritize and manage deadlines effectively.
Education:
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
Active Virginia or Maryland Bar license.
Certifications:
Must hold an active Bar membership in either Virginia or Maryland.
Skills:
Advanced computer and office software skills.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Analytical mindset with a keen eye for detail.
Ability to work independently while handling multiple tasks.
