A law firm in Phoenix, AZ, is seeking an Immigration Attorney to join their dynamic team. Reporting to the Managing Immigration Attorney, the successful candidate will handle their own caseload, interact with clients, and work closely with a team of attorneys and legal assistants. This role involves representing clients in various immigration proceedings, preparing applications, and providing strategic legal advice.

Duties:

  • Explain immigration concepts and develop strategic solutions for clients.
  • Represent non-detained and detained individuals in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and the Board of Immigration Appeals.
  • Manage a diverse workload of immigration cases.
  • Visit detention centers to conduct intakes with detained individuals.
  • Prepare and file a range of immigration applications, including removal defense and family-based immigration petitions.
  • Review and adjust immigration applications and packets as necessary.
  • Present and collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community-based organizations on updates in immigration law.
  • Meet with potential clients for strategic consultations and formulate necessary legal strategies.
  • Develop case strategies and prepare clients and witnesses for court or USCIS testimony.
  • Provide legal analysis to identify potential benefits and case strategies.
  • Prepare and submit legal briefs for a variety of immigration cases.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of experience in Immigration Law.
  • Proven experience with Family-Based Petitions, Humanitarian cases, EOIR matters, Detained cases, Citizenship, and other USCIS applications.
  • Proficiency with Case Management Software is preferred.
  • Bilingual (Spanish) is preferred.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills with a proven ability to manage a caseload and advance legal cases.

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Bar in the state of Arizona.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of immigration law and procedures.
  • Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a team of attorneys and legal assistants.
  • Excellent client service and communication skills.
  • Proven track record of managing a caseload effectively and advancing legal cases.
