Job Overview:

A law firm seeks a skilled Senior Associate Attorney to join its Richmond, VA office. This position offers an opportunity to work with an established and sophisticated client base on intricate legal and policy matters. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in environmental law, regulatory compliance, business transactions, and litigation.

Duties:

  • Provide legal counsel on environmental regulations, permitting, and compliance issues.
  • Represent clients in litigation, administrative proceedings, and government investigations.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, transactional agreements, and regulatory filings.
  • Advise clients on business transactions and government affairs-related legal matters.
  • Conduct thorough legal research and analysis on complex regulatory and policy issues.
  • Collaborate with government agencies, industry groups, and other stakeholders.
  • Maintain strong client relationships and provide strategic legal guidance.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a large law firm or comparable legal setting.
  • Proven ability to manage a diverse caseload involving environmental law, compliance counseling, litigation, and business transactions.
  • Strong negotiation, drafting, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active bar membership in good standing within the state of Virginia.

Skills:

  • Deep knowledge of environmental regulations, compliance procedures, and permitting.
  • Strong litigation and advocacy skills.
  • Exceptional legal research and writing capabilities.
  • Ability to handle high-stakes matters with minimal supervision.
