Job Overview:

A law firm located in Minneapolis is seeking an experienced Litigation Associate to join its growing litigation team. This position offers an exciting opportunity for a motivated lateral associate who thrives in a dynamic, collaborative environment. The firm specializes in a variety of complex litigation matters, with a particular focus on product liability defense, and represents high-profile clients across various industries.

Duties:

• Manage complex civil litigation cases, including product liability, class actions, and general commercial litigation.
• Draft and argue motions related to discovery, case management, and other legal proceedings.
• Take and defend depositions in both state and federal courts.
• Manage large-scale document productions and electronic discovery.
• Lead case strategy development and oversee the execution of legal tactics.
• Work directly with clients, offering legal advice and updates on case developments.
• Collaborate with a team of skilled attorneys, sharing expertise and contributing to case outcomes.
• Attend and represent the firm in hearings, trials, and other legal proceedings as necessary.

Requirements:

• 3-5 years of experience in civil litigation, including product liability, class actions, and complex commercial litigation matters.
• Proven ability to manage cases from inception to resolution with a focus on effective trial preparation.
• Excellent oral and written advocacy skills.
• Strong academic background and experience working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
• Ability to take initiative and demonstrate an entrepreneurial approach to a growing office.
• Admission to the Minnesota Bar or eligibility to apply for admission to the Minnesota Bar.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active membership in a State Bar (preferably Minnesota, or willingness to obtain Minnesota Bar membership).

Skills:

• Strong litigation and trial experience, particularly in product liability and commercial litigation.
• Exceptional case management, analytical, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
• Proficient in legal research, drafting legal documents, and case presentations.
• Strong interpersonal skills to maintain client relationships and collaborate effectively with colleagues.
