Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare pleadings, motions, discovery demands, and responses in business litigation matters.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis of complex legal issues.
  • Independently identify legal issues, anticipate strategies, and recommend courses of action in litigation.
  • Participate in court proceedings, including hearings and trials.
  • Take and defend depositions of witnesses and experts.
  • Engage in mediation and settlement negotiations.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, providing updates and strategic advice.
  • Collaborate with partners, associates, and support staff to manage caseload efficiently.

Requirements:

  • Active member of the State Bar of California and in good standing.
  • 3-5 years of substantive experience in business litigation, preferably in a law firm environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of the California Code of Civil Procedure and Evidence Code.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong legal and factual/investigative research skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional academic credentials from an accredited law school.

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the State Bar of California.
