A law firm seeks a talented Associate Attorney to join their highly regarded Construction and Energy practice group in Atlanta, GA. The ideal candidate will have 2-4 years of experience in either transactional or litigation matters within the construction or energy sectors. Whether your expertise lies in one area or both, the firm is committed to providing training to help broaden your skills. This role offers a diverse mix of both transactional and litigation work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Duties:

  • Provide legal support for construction and energy-related matters, including drafting and reviewing contracts, agreements, and legal documents.
  • Assist with both transactional and litigation work in the construction and energy sectors.
  • Handle case preparation, research, and drafting of pleadings for construction and energy-related litigation.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys on case strategy and guide junior associates.
  • Negotiate settlements and assist in resolving disputes in construction and energy contracts.
  • Engage in client communication to provide legal updates and support.
  • Represent clients in depositions, hearings, and other legal proceedings, as needed.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients in the construction and energy industries.

Requirements:

  • 2-4 years of relevant experience in construction or energy law, with exposure to both transactional and litigation work.
  • Strong analytical, writing, and research skills.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to represent clients effectively.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Licensed to practice law in Georgia (or willingness to become licensed if exceptional experience warrants an exception).
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active membership in the Georgia State Bar (or ability to be admitted).

Skills:

  • Knowledge of construction and energy law, including relevant statutes, regulations, and industry practices.
  • Strong legal research, writing, and drafting capabilities.
  • Experience with contract negotiation and dispute resolution.
  • Ability to handle litigation matters from case preparation through resolution.
  • Comfortable working with clients and managing relationships.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
