Job Overview: A law firm in Charlotte, NC, seeks a skilled Workers' Compensation Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience in Workers' Compensation defense, possess excellent analytical and communication skills, and be admitted to practice in the State of North Carolina.

Duties:

  • Review and prepare summaries of medical records to effectively advocate for clients.
  • Draft motions and attend hearings to represent clients in court.
  • Prepare clients for depositions and attend depositions as needed.
  • Draft initial reports, interim reports, pre-trial reports, trials, and appellate activity.
  • Respond to discovery requests and draft discovery-related motions.
  • Regularly attend court appearances to ensure the best possible outcomes for clients.
  • Take and defend depositions of fact witnesses and expert witnesses.
  • Draft and respond to discovery-related motions.
  • Draft motions for summary judgments.

Requirements:

  • Admitted to practice in the State of North Carolina.
  • Dual licensure in South Carolina is preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in Workers' Compensation defense.

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active license to practice law in the State of North Carolina.
