Senior Immigration Attorney

Job Overview:
A prestigious law firm is seeking a Senior Immigration Attorney to join its team in Austin, TX. This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated immigration attorney with at least four years of experience. The Senior Immigration Attorney will manage a caseload, represent clients in various immigration matters, and collaborate with a team of legal professionals to provide high-quality services to clients.

Duties:

• Explain immigration concepts and provide strategic legal solutions to clients.
• Represent both non-detained and detained individuals in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and Board of Immigration Appeals.
• Manage a caseload of immigration cases, ensuring timely progress and thorough case handling.
• Conduct intake sessions with detained individuals at immigration detention centers.
• Prepare and file various immigration applications, including removal defense and family-based immigration petitions.
• Review immigration applications and make necessary adjustments to ensure compliance with immigration law.
• Work with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community organizations on changes to immigration law.
• Conduct strategic consultations with potential clients and develop effective case strategies.
• Prepare clients and witnesses for court appearances and USCIS testimony.
• Provide legal analysis to clients to identify potential benefits and outcomes of their cases.
• Prepare and submit legal briefs for a range of immigration cases.

Requirements:

• At least 4 years of experience practicing immigration law.
• Strong ability to work collaboratively with other attorneys and staff.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred but not required.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Proven track record of managing and advancing caseloads effectively.
• Experience with Family-Based Petitions, Humanitarian, EOIR, Detained, Citizenship, and other USCIS applications.
• Familiarity with Case Management Software is preferred.

Education & Certifications:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Active admission to the State Bar (Texas) or eligibility to practice law in Texas.
