A law firm in Austin, TX, is seeking a dedicated Bankruptcy Attorney to provide comprehensive legal counsel for Chapter 7, 11, and 13 bankruptcy cases. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing cases from filing through discharge, advising clients on bankruptcy options, and attending court hearings. The position requires excellent communication skills, a thorough understanding of Texas bankruptcy procedures, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Duties:

  • Onboard new bankruptcy cases and manage all aspects from filing to discharge.
  • Meet with prospective clients, conduct consultations, and sign engagement documents.
  • Attend court hearings and represent clients throughout the bankruptcy process.
  • Advise clients on bankruptcy options and guide them through each stage of their case.
  • Conduct thorough research to support client cases and stay informed of developments in bankruptcy law.
  • Request and approve drafts of petitions, pleadings, and motions.
  • Respond to client inquiries via phone and email, providing timely and accurate information.
  • Oversee and delegate tasks to legal assistants as needed.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the firm.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Licensed to practice law in the State of Texas.
  • Admitted to practice in the Western District of Texas.
  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience in bankruptcy law preferred.
  • Ability to attend court hearings and travel as necessary.
  • Strong understanding of Texas legal procedures and the Bankruptcy Code.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in filing petitions in Texas bankruptcy courts.
  • Dedicated to providing superior client service in a fast-paced environment.
