Chemical and Life Sciences Associate Attorney

A law firm in Los Angeles is seeking a motivated Chemical and Life Sciences Associate Attorney to join their team. The candidate will primarily handle consumer products-related matters, focusing on California’s Proposition 65, chemical regulatory compliance, advertising claims, consumer class actions, and products liability. Strong research, analysis, and writing skills are essential, along with experience in defending and taking depositions, motion practice, and brief writing. A background or interest in science is advantageous for this role.

Job Duties:

• Conduct legal research and analysis on complex issues related to consumer products, chemical regulations, and products liability.
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents.
• Assist in defending and taking depositions, as well as preparing witnesses for depositions and trials.
• Provide strategic advice and counsel to clients on regulatory compliance and risk management in the chemical and life sciences sectors.
• Handle consumer class actions and participate in settlement negotiations.
• Stay updated on relevant legal developments and industry trends.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• 2-3 years of relevant experience in a law firm environment, preferably within a Chemical and Life Sciences practice group.
• Membership in the California Bar, active and in good standing.
• Strong academic credentials and demonstrated research and writing abilities.
• Experience with motion practice, depositions, and brief writing.
• Background or interest in science is a plus.
