Job Title: Litigation Associate Attorney

Job Overview
A reputable law firm based in Brentwood, TN, is seeking a highly motivated Litigation Associate Attorney. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with senior attorneys, contribute to significant cases, and grow professionally within a dynamic and collaborative legal environment.

Duties

  • Assist senior attorneys with trial and hearing preparation
  • Draft legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and memoranda
  • Handle discovery processes including drafting requests and responses
  • Manage and track deadlines across multiple cases
  • Communicate with court officials, other law offices, and related parties regarding hearings, depositions, and trial logistics
  • Attend and cover procedural and administrative hearings
  • Provide litigation support in various phases of case preparation

Requirements

  • Valid license to practice law in the State of Tennessee or the ability to obtain one within six months
  • Strong legal research skills, especially with Lexis
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated interest in litigation, evidenced through work experience or academic participation (e.g., Moot Court, Trial Advocacy, Law Journal)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Adobe Acrobat for legal document management
  • Familiarity with legal case management software (knowledge of Clio is a plus)
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented and entrepreneurial environment

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
  • A GPA of 3.0 or higher or the top 30% of the class preferred

Certifications

  • Active license to practice law in Tennessee (or ability to secure within six months)

Skills
